Yoga is my Passion
I discovered yoga as a teenager, while my mother was flipping through TV channels and stumbled upon a channel that showed doing various yoga postures. With 10 plus years of personal yoga practice, I create fun, exciting and peaceful experiences with yoga for my students of all ages. Initially, I practiced Iyengar Yoga with Cynthia Bates in San Francisco. I can also boast of having a Master’s degree in Information Security and having worked for many years in a highly competitive and benifiting environment, I want to guide students to aquire more self-awareness and bliss (‘ananda’) with my ‘Yoga’ journey. I am a certified 200-hour yoga teacher. Recently completed Yoga for Kids training with Alexandra Rossi.

I am passionate in getting the little one’s to release their energy through fun yoga poses and to bring ‘ananda’ & relaxation to the little one’s mind. I believe that the daily practice of yoga brings overall well being. In my kids yoga classes, I teach them how to stretch their limbs and to bend like a real ‘yogi’. I, Smitha, mom of two, live in Pacifica, CA. I am an IT Auditor, dancer, traveler, artist (at least I thinks so) and an aspiring kids yoga teacher. As a constant seeker of learning, I continue my yoga education with teachers of all yoga lineages. While I am not teaching or learning yoga, you can find me painting, traveling and cooking with my family. You can find my contact information in the contact section of my webpage.

This yoga pose gets its name from the plow – a popular farming tool commonly used in Indian agriculture to prepare the soil for sowing crops. Like its namesake, this pose prepares the ‘field’ of the body and mind for deep rejuvenation.
